Dr Christina Sanida


Specialist in Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine


Graduated as Medical Doctor with Distinction from ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) in 1999.

She was recognized as a Pulmonology Specialist at ULB with Great Distinction in 2004.

She was awarded the prize of the Belgian Pneumology Scientific Group for her clinical study which she then published.

She obtained her Diploma in Acute Medicine at ULB in 2003.


Between 1999 and 2004, she worked at the Erasme, CHU Saint Pierre, Institut Bordet and Ambroise Paré University Hospitals, continuing her training in Internal Medicine and her specialization in Pulmonology. She acquired a very diverse and rich clinical experience, particularly in the field of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and thoracic Oncology

                                                                                         

In 2006, she follows the cycle of the prestigious  "Arcachon workshops '' in France on the interpretation of polysomnography, the diagnosis and the treatment of sleep disorders and  completes her training with the ERS (European Respiratory Society) courses on the same field.

She was recognized as a specialist in Sleep Medicine in 2010, after succeding the ICSM (International Course of Sleep Medicine) exam organized by the BASS (Belgian Association of Sleep Medicine and Sleep Research).

In 2012-2013, she obtained the Certificate of continuing education in “cognitive behavioural treatment of Insomnia” from the ULB.


Since 2004, she has been working in the Pulmonology department of the Clinique Saint Jean, in Brussels, where she founded the "Laboratory for the diagnosis of sleep disorders" for which she remains responsible from 2010 until 2020.


She also continues her clinical research activity in association with the group of Pulmonologists at CHU Saint Pierre, Brussels, and works as a consultant at the Sleep Laboratory of this University Clinic since 2009 until today.

She has published articles in scientific journals and participated with presentations in Conferences in Belgium and other European countries.


In 2014, in parallel with her clinical activity, she was also interested in the field of hospital management and obtained the Inter University Certificate in Hospital Medical Management (CIMM) under the coordination of the ULB (Free University of Brussels) - Department of Public Health- and UCL (Catholic University of Louvain).


In 2016, she became CMIO (Chief Medical Information Officer) of Clinique Saint Jean.

Since 2018, she has been a member of the Medical Management Committee of this hospital.


In parallel to her clinical activities, Medical IT and the digitalization of the health care system in Belgium, has become one of her main activities in recent years and, through her function of CMIO of the Clinique Saint Jean, she has become, since 2018, member of the Board of Directors of ABRUMET (Brussels Association for Medical Telematics).


She has acquired a long experience in the health care system and clinical medicine, after 25 years of hospital experience combined with a private medical consultancy activity.


Dr. Sanida is quadrilingual. She fluently speaks French, Greek, English and Italian.
